Hunting Adeline is not your average dark romance—it’s darker.

Like, “turn the lights on and maybe sleep with a teddy bear for emotional support” darker. Please, please make sure you’ve gone through the trigger warnings before diving in. This book doesn’t tiptoe around its themes; it storms right in with combat boots.

The first half of this book? Honestly brutal. I had to take breaks just to remind myself that sunshine, puppies, and snacks still exist. It’s graphic, it’s detailed, and it’s not something to read lightly.

But here’s the thing—if you can handle it, the story gives you some incredible character growth. Addie’s strength and resilience shine through, and we get to peel back more layers of Z. Yes, the unhinged stalker somehow has a softer, more patient side (who knew?). The way he cares for Addie shows that even the darkest characters can surprise you.

And then there’s Sibby. Oh, Sibby. Completely insane? Absolutely. Did I love her anyway? Without a doubt. She adds a chaotic, unhinged flavor to the story that I didn’t know I needed until she showed up.

On the flip side, the revenge arc? A little underwhelming for me. I wanted fireworks, explosions, maybe a full-on Kill Bill moment, but it didn’t quite deliver that level of catharsis. Still, the emotional journey, the raw portrayal of trauma, and the complicated, twisted love story kept me glued to the pages.

Final thoughts: Hunting Adeline is darker, heavier, and not for the faint of heart—but if you’re prepared, it’s a wild ride full of chaos, growth, and a surprising dash of tenderness.
